Steps in borrowing
with W by ATB

This guide is not inclusive of all scenarios, but is intended to assist with transparency in the W by ATB lending process from initiating an application to funding the loan. Follow this interactive chart for each step in ATB’s processes. Each page offers information on the next step in your borrowing journey.

Step 1

Determining Eligibility and Due Diligence Assessment

In this step ATB works with you to collect and assess information required to provide advice and solutions that best fit you.


Speak with your Relationship Manager on the types of information you should have available at the time of starting the application.

Step 2

Credit Application Submission

In this step your ATB Relationship Manager will translate your story into our lending practices. In this stage other ATB credit partners may be introduced to assist with assessing the application. It is common for ATB credit partners to ask your Relationship Manager for additional information in order to fully assess each unique situation and assist in decision making processes.

This process starts once ATB Credit has all of the necessary documents from your Relationship Manager. Then, it can take up to 10 business days after submission.

Step 3

Adjudication (Credit Application Review)

In this step, ATB’s credit partners review the application, approve funding and conditions, and set terms and conditions.


In the event the application is unsuccessful, your Relationship Manager will give feedback on the identifiable barriers and provide advice on next steps for a successful application at a future date.

Step 4

Documentation

After the application is approved, formal documents are created for your signature.


This includes Commitment Letters, other supporting documentation, including pre/post approval conditions, and security documentation.

 

This is when solicitors are engaged to prepare security documents and meet with you to confirm and refine the security registration.

 

ATB will often utilize solicitors that are on ATB’s approved list. If you need advice on a solicitor, ask your Relationship Manager.

Upon approval, a Commitment Letter is signed, if solicitors are required to complete the process additional time will apply.

Step 5

Funding

Congratulations!


This is the most exciting and exhilarating step and can also be where any last items are perfected or obtained.
